"Some days when I am able to pick a pen and write, I know I have been blessed."~Savita

Welcome to my blog. In my quiet hours I seek to touch the depth of myself and my surroundings. My thoughts that take form of poetry are just the scratches on the surface of life as it reveals to me. Wrapped in a delicate veil of symbolism and ambiguity these verses and expressions also fulfill my desire to share a bit of my self with others. I hope reading them would be as enjoyable for you as writing them has been for me.

Mahalaya Paksh And Memories

Today Mahalaya Paksh ends.

The days of remembrance and contemplation,

Paying homage to our ancestors.

In these days memory pays homage to memory!

With ancient rituals of offering of water, sesame seeds and rice balls

I give expression to those memories.

I think of beautiful days and days of pain and anguish.

Days of pleasure and days of  bitterness.

Days are getting short and nights are getting long!

Like Mother Earth, Memory carries the  joys and burdens of life

Through generations!

O Life! With faith, love and devotion I bow to you.

Let the remembrance of my loved ones bring,

Nothing more to me, than the strength, love and devotion,

To pass the beauty of memories embedded in our traditions to next generation.
